TownConnect for ChatGPT and Claude

What it does

TownConnect runs two marketplaces: CarsConnect, for used and new cars from verified South African dealerships, and HomesConnect, for houses, flats, plots and farms listed by South African estate agencies. This connector opens both to ChatGPT and Claude.

Ask your assistant something like "find me an automatic bakkie under R450 000 in Pretoria" or "what three-bedroom houses are for sale in Stellenbosch?" and it searches the same live listings the websites and WhatsApp bots use. Every result is a real listing with its actual asking price in rand, a photo, the dealership or agency holding it, a link to the listing page, and a WhatsApp link that opens a chat with that seller with the enquiry already written for you.

The four tools

Search cars — finds cars for sale. Filter by make, model, body type, transmission, price range, maximum mileage, earliest model year and area.
Search property — finds property for sale or to rent. Filter by sale or rent, property type, exact or minimum bedrooms, price range and town.
Get one listing — pulls the full detail of a single car or property once you have picked one out of a search.
Check coverage — reports which cities and towns actually hold stock right now, and how much. This is how your assistant knows to tell you plainly that we do not cover an area, instead of guessing.

All four only read. Nothing on this connector can change, book, buy or delete anything, and it never asks you to sign in.

Where the stock is

TownConnect is a young marketplace and its stock is concentrated, not national. At the time of writing, cars are listed in Pretoria, Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Ekurhuleni, and property in Albertinia, Mossel Bay, Stellenbosch, George, Pacaltsdorp and a handful of smaller Southern Cape and Western Cape towns. Ask your assistant to "check TownConnect coverage" for the live list and current counts — it reads them straight from the marketplace rather than from this page.

Adding it

In ChatGPT: open Settings → Apps & Connectors, and turn on Developer mode under Advanced settings. Choose Create, and paste the server URL https://vaalwaterconnect.co.za/mcp. Leave authentication set to No authentication. Save, then start a new chat and ask for a car or a house, and approve the connector when ChatGPT asks.

In Claude: add https://vaalwaterconnect.co.za/mcp as a custom connector, with no authentication, then ask for a car or a house.

Privacy

The connector receives only the search criteria your assistant sends, never your name, account or conversation. See the TownConnect privacy policy for the full detail.
